Episode Name/Number:  You Oughta Be in Pictures  (Episode 5.15)

Original Air Date:  January 14, 1980

Summary:  Laverne and Shirley try out to be in a military film, but are cast as "easy women," unbeknownst to them. It's only after the cameras start rolling that they start to piece together what this film is all about.

Guest Stars:  Bruce Kimmel (yet again), this time as the film director. Guess he got tired of playing the organ at the roller rink.
Best Quote:  “Everybody knows that you’re not easy women. I mean, I can personally vouch for Shirley.” -Carmine
Most Touching Moment/Quote:  Carmine singing "High Hopes" to try to cheer the girls up at the end of the episode.
Funniest Moment:  The girls' shocking realization in the last few moments of the episode what their roles truly were:  “We'll have fun, and you’ll forget all about playing hookers!” -Carmine  "We played hookers?!?" -Laverne   "I thougt we just played bimbos!" -Shirley
Squiggy Hello:  "Those men were smart, and walked away from trouble. Other soldiers weren’t so lucky." -Director  "Hello!" -Squiggy
Featured Songs:  "There’s No Business Like Show Business," a rendition of "High Hopes" led by Carmine, and the "77 Sunset Strip" theme
Strangest Moment: A very roughed-up Frank DeFazio coming after the bathroom, after spending six hours fixing the toilet... when it was really the sink that was broken.
Best Insult:  "Laverne. Put a paper bag over your head, and you could be Marilyn Monroe." -Shirley (Half compliment, half insult - Laverne takes it as an insult).
Saddest Moment:  The girls coming home and crying after their humiliating film experience.
Fun Tidbit:  Frank DeFazio played Hamlet in high school: "To be... or not to be... that's a good question!" (Could anyone understand him?)

Episode in One Ridiculous Picture:

Star Rating:  4.5/5
Verdict:  One of the best season five episodes - a throwback to the types of storylines that were popular in the early seasons of the show, and hilariously executed.
