We're in the Army Now, Part II

Episode Name/Number:  We're in the Army Now, Part II  (Episode 5.10)

Original Air Date:  November 15, 1979

Summary:  The girls are having a rough time in the army under Sgt. Plout’s watch, so when they have the opportunity to go back home to their old jobs (and a promotion!), they need to figure out a plan to get out of the army and get back to Milwaukee!

Guest Stars:  Vicki Lawrence as Sgt. Plout
Best Quote:  "Watching you two yellow-bellied crawdaddies get whooped is gonna double my pleasure and double my fun!" - Sgt. Plout
Most Touching Moment/Quote:  The blue team winning the showdown! Woot woot!
Funniest Moment:  The girls pretending to be crazy and acting as if they're being attacked by their coats, in order to try to demonstrate that they have army fatigue.
Squiggy Hello:  "If I told you once, I told you twice. All we’ve got to do is turn into two raving idiots!" -Laverne  "Hello!" -Squiggy
Featured Songs:  The reprise of the "Hula Babies" song, when Sgt. Plout tells the girls they are going to Hawaii. So frickin’ awesome.
Strangest Moment:  Laverne & Shirley actually schlemiel-schlimazel-ing in the context of the actual episode... and Sgt. Plout joining in.
Best Insult:  "You two are spineless jellyfish. I could just barf." -Sgt. Plout
Saddest Moment:  Colonel Henderson's pep talk: "Running away from your problems doesn’t solve anything. Got it?” (Yeah, that Henderson's a real, um, tearjerker... Dammit, there weren't any sad moments in this episode though, okay?!?)
Fun Tidbit:  Sgt. Plout has been married at least four times: "These two are crazier than my second and fourth husbands!" -Sgt. Plout

Episode in One Ridiculous Picture:

Star Rating:  3.5/5
Verdict:  Even more than the first "We're in the Army Now," this episode becomes just pure physical comedy... it takes it a little too far in my book, but still a memorable conclusion to a great two-parter.

The Laverne and Shirley Place is strictly an unofficial fan site and is not affiliated with Laverne & Shirley or Paramount Pictures. Mad respect to Garry Marshall for creating this wonderful show, these crazy characters, and all the resulting insanity.
