Episode Name/Number:  The Fourth Annual Shotz Talent Show  (Episode 5.12)

Original Air Date:  December 6, 1979

Summary:  Laverne & Shirley are in charge of the annual Shotz Talent show, but when Mr. Shotz isn’t liking with most of the acts, the girls have the tough job of converting everything over to a brand new theme... Americana.

Guest Stars:  A bunch of Squigtones, including W.G. Snuffy Walden, Emmy winning composer of dozens of famous TV theme songs
Best Quote: "You're having yourself a leisurely fruit fight, while the talent show goes gently down the toilet!" -Squiggy
Most Touching Moment/Quote:  "Sell it, mom!" -Laverne to new mom Edna, during her awesome Yankee Doodle Dandy performance
Funniest Moment:  Frank’s Laverne & Shirley dummies and his resulting impersonations of the girls ("Aww, Daaaad, I don’t wahhnnna.."  and  "Is there a cute doctor I could meet?")
Squiggy Hello:  "I don’t get it, Shirl. He hasn’t liked one act all day! Maybe he hates animals..." -Laverne  "Hello!" -Squiggy
Featured Songs:  Umm, it’s a Shotz Talent show episode - there are SO many! We have the boys with "If Only I’d've Listened to Mama," Carmine and Edna's "Yankee Doodle Dandy," and, finally, the girls’ patriotic medley, ending with them rocking out to "Rock 'n Roll is Here to Stay" (with backup from the boys).
Strangest Moment:  Laverne & Shirley tossing fruit back and forth to the tune of 'America the Beautiful.'
Best Insult:  "Well, I’m very happy to hear that you’re reading Reader’s Digest, as opposed to those True Smut magazines you’re always looking at..." -Shirley
Saddest Moment:  Frank thinking the girls hate his puppet act
Fun Tidbit: Laverne is Italian, Shirley is Irish, Squiggy is German, and Lenny is Polish.
